It’s the chief touristic town of the "Coral Riviera". It’s located at 40 km from Sassari in a lovely and wide natural harbour in the
north-western coast, where sea and land meet giving life to a suggestive landscape in 45 kilometres of line-coast which, from the calcareous promontory of Capo Caccia in the north extend as far as to Poglina beach, in the south. It’s the Catalan town in
Sardinia, unique for its ancient origins looking back to the past domination of Aragoneses.
The most
fascinating characteristic is its Gothic architecture shown in the style and the design of various buildings: the Gothic-Catalan churches with its wonderful bell towers and the ancient walls surrounding the town make the atmosphere magic with their
enduring spell.
